Friends of London Hazards Meeting

Dear friends of London Hazards
Thanks for coming up to our stall at the National Hazards conference at Keele University and giving us your contact details. We said we were going to organise a Meeting/conference in London to try and begin to forge links across the London and South/East area. To create not just unity, but a campaigning organisation, which can bring together Safety Reps and Activists, that can fight back against the present and future attacks of this coalition on workers lives. The continued assault on legislation taking away rights and attacking our ability to fight back, can only be answered by uniting.
In March 2013 we lost all our funding and had to close our office lay off 1 full time and 2 part time workers paying redundancy, shut our phone lines and website etc. We’ve since then raised 20K from Trust for London and been knocking on everyones doors asking for help and raising money to ensure we carry on. We feal that with the 40% cuts to the HSE Hazards is more important than ever. The 20K has enabled us to employ a part time worker, open an office, a phone line and website. Including producing the London Hazards Magazine quarterly, were looking to set up courses particularly for Migrant workers. All on a shoe string budget but to do this we’ll need all the support we can win, but were determined to succeed.

We’ve organised the 1st meeting along these lines to take place at —-
Leigh Day Solicitors Head office’s

Tuesday 21st October 6pm Priory House 25 St John’s Lane London EC1M 4LB
